Barber of Seville.MP3

Having assisted with devising the scheme of work and been employed by Gloucestershire Music to deliver whole class brass tuition, Kris is well versed in providing whole class tuition for primary schools.

Kris now works on a freelance independent basis in local primary schools providing group tuition on cornet, trumpet and trombone for pupils in year 5 upwards and PBuzz for pupils in year 2 upwards.

A 10 week scheme of work is included in the package provided and instruments can be hired at a minimal cost from Gloucestershire Music.  Local brass bands, including Pillowell Silver Band, are sometimes willing to loan instruments to pupils in exchange for the child attending their training band sessions. Kris can provide more details to parents and schools if this is of interest.

Interested schools can contact Kris for further information by emailing kris@krissymondsmusic.co.uk

Demonstrations can also be provided to school assemblies and community groups such as brownies, cubs and cadets.

Whole Class & Group Tuition

In addition to individual and whole class tuition, Kris also provides coaching for brass ensembles for competitions, festivals and GCSE or A Level recordings.

Below are a few examples of the ensembles that Kris has coached.

Box of Frogs is a brass trio of Kris’s students who were aged 15 - 17 when this performance of Rossini’s Barber of Seville Overture was recorded at the 2013 National Festival of Music For Youth.

PSB is a quartet from fourth section Pillowell Silver Band who assisted the band’s youngest tenor horn player Tiana with her GCSE performance in March 2017.

Euph4ria is a euphonium quartet of Kris’s students who recorded Bizet’s Farandole for member Josh’s GCSE ensemble recording.  He was awarded an A for this performance.
